Bethesda Ditching Old Tech for New Elder Scrolls Game

The succeeding Senior Scrolls game will look "fantastic," says Bethesda's community manager.

It's out with the old and in with the new for the fifth Elder Scrolls brave. Specifically, it's out with the sexagenarian GameBryo engine that Bethesda has used for Obliviousness, Fallout 3 and fifty-fifty Morrowind, and in with a custom-built engine.

A tweet from the official Bethesda Twitter feast said the developer had seen a lot of speculation about the technology that Skyrim would habituate, and confirmed that it would ravel along a "dramatic" new locomotive engine. When pressed happening whether "new" meant entirely new, operating theatre some newly version of GameBryo, Bethesda community manager Notch Breckon said that "new" meant a brand inexperient, internally created, "gameplay/nontextual matter locomotive engine."

Back in August, Bethesda's Sir Alexander Robertus Todd Howard briefly talked close to the engine for Skyrim, although the game plain hadn't been announced at that gunpoint. He said that it was based on the applied science for Fallout 3 – which was part GameBryo and set out Bethesda's possess work – but had conventional approximately pretty heavy modification, particularly in the parts that handled characters and animation. Leslie Howard Stainer added that the new engine would make people "almost feel like [they had] a new console,"

Skyrim comes unstylish for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 on November 11th next year.
